I finished with 15 hints used! This was a brilliant little experience to look forward to when I have some time to myself to mull over.

Most of the puzzles were pretty satisfying to solve, the only exception being WLAVRG (spoiler hidden), which felt like it was essentially brute force. Some were real headscratchers!

Overall, this was a wonderful game and I feel bad for having enjoyed it for free. I'll donate some when I get my next paycheck!

I'm glad you enjoyed my game!

Played this game a while back and it finally scratched a gaming itch I've been looking for forever. Would love to see a sequel or expanded version of the game, maybe even working in some real-world puzzles.

I'm super happy you enjoyed it!

i just finished this game!!! it was awesome!!! i really loved the ending, as well, always a fan of things like that (trying to avoid mentioning spoilers, but hopefully you know what i mean lmao)
thank you so much for making it! i played it all day instead of doing my hw <3

i'm glad you enjoyed it!

The game was fun if a little…cryptic at times. It didn’t help a good few of the hints felt actively unhelpful?…while in others it felt like I had no way to really solve it outside of the help of hints.

It was fun still of course.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

And yea, looking back on it, the hints weren't as helpful as I wanted. At the time, I restricted myself to 4, 5 and 6 words each, thinking it was a Creative way of limiting it, but it only came across as unhelpful to basically everyone

Well, there’s always another time if you ever decide to make a sequel or something

well that was a trippy ending

I'm stuck again lol. This time I am certain that I'm not missing anything as I haven't reached all the dead ends I can. I'm stuck on both "Fragment" and "Extract". With Fragment I decoded it into base64 (I'm pretty sure this is confirmed with the second hint) and I got gibberish. Then I put it into an anagram solver to see if it spelled anything else, which it didn't. I really don't know what else to try as the hints basically are telling me "use base64, include capitals and numbers (I'm pretty sure that's what its saying), and rearrange what you get into something else" which is what I did, and I got nothing useful. With Extract, I tried using the caeser sypher, shifting it up or down based on where the number is and the value of it, gibberish. Tried using the actual words. Going to the position that the number would correspond to, more gibberish. The hints weren't much help either, basically just telling me to pay attention to the numbers and count in some way. I can't progress (I think) until I've solved these so any help would be appreciated. (wish there was a discord server or something for this kind of stuff) (also, Long message lol)

Just figured them out. Extract I was just overcomplicating. Fragments wasn't my fault because the font makes lowercase L's look like 1's

the same thing happened to me with fragment :pensive:

Hi,

I absolutely love this project — was really excited to give it a crack. Unfortunately when trying to open it on Mac (Intel i9 2019) I just get an error that says ‘The application “Kryptic_Mac” can’t be opened.’ Wondering whether you have any guidance for this? Thanks in advance!

I've won half the battle — turns out you can launch it from the itch.io app. However, the interface is un-usably small (even if I rescale it using the settings!) Any clues?

I managed to get it all fixed and wow — what a fantastic experience. Truly challenged me more than I expected a puzzle game would but I really enjoyed it! Now I want to go back and do it hint-free t see what the different end result is.

I love this game so far. Sadly, I've reached a point where I can't seem to get past. On "Wires", I don't know what the symbols are.I'm sure I could figure out what the word is once I know what the symbols are but the hints don't really help me figure that out. I thought it would use the pigpen code but I think the symbols would look more like the pigpen symbols. If anyone could help that would be great.

I don't want the answer to the whole puzzle but I just need help figuring out what the symbols mean

I'm only on the red side btw, I haven't tried looked for any ways to get to the different colors yet

From what I understand, wires is a puzzle that you have to wait until later sections of the game to be able to solve

Ah ok, that makes sense. Thanks

The mac app doesnt seem to work on my machine (it said it cant be opened) (i am on a m1 mac)

Just wanted to let you know that there's a typo in the linux version. The program and data files are named "Krypric" instead of "Kryptic".

oh, so it is! ^-^;

Thanks for letting me know!

make it so that there would be the answer after you get the final hint i cant figure out word grip

i don't understand what you mean with "i can't figure out word grip"

just ignore that i just want it so that it would tell the answer after it gives the last hint

FYI, lens does not seem to work on Mac. I've run the windows version through Whisky instead, and lens works fine there, but I thought I'd let you know.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't know why that's the case
